GF DF Dark Chocolate Brownies
These delicious brownies are easy to make and you can have more than one without the guilt! Many ingredients can be swapped out for alternatives as needed and you can make it less sweet or sweeter than this. Make your brownies your way! But I'm giving you the blueprint to work off of!
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado, mashed
1/2 cup of cocoa powder
2 eggs
1/4 cup of xylitol or cane sugar**
2 tbsp almond butter
1 tsp baking powder
1.5 tsp vanilla extract
Dash of salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips/chunks (plus a few more to top the brownies)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 325 F and line an 8x8 pan with butter/oil/parchment paper.
Mix ingredients together, pour into the pan, top with chocolate chips/chunks.
Bake for 40 minutes then let cool before consuming.
Enjoy!
**There are many ways to sweeten these brownies. I like xylitol because it tastes like sugar and it is lower in carbohydrates and therefore does not have as much of an effect on blood sugars in comparison. You can also use a small amount of stevia instead of either of these, or you can mix some stevia with some sugar to lower the amount of sugar while lessening the taste of stevia. Coconut sugar is another option. Sweeten to your liking!
